Cormier calls Jones a drug cheat

Daniel_Cormier_taking_a_picture_with_a_fan.UFC Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier took to Twitter to confront Jon Jones once again over his steroid use.

The long-term rivals once again exchanged words, taking to Twitter to voice their opinions on one another.

An interview with Jon Jones, conducted by RTsports, highlighted the former two-time Light Heavyweight Champion’s desire to beat rival Cormier a further two times.

History

Jones retained his title at UFC 182, winning by decision however was later stripped of his title due to a connection with a hit and run.

The two were scheduled to have a rematch at UFC 197 when Cormier pulled out due to a foot injury. The fight was rescheduled for UFC 200, this time Jones was pulled from the match due to a USADA violation.

The fight finally happened at UFC 214 with Jones winning by knockout. The decision was overturned however, as Jones once again failed a drug test and was stripped of the title again.

Twitter Exchange

After Jones’ comments, Cormier responded to him on Twitter.

Jones fired back which led to the two rivals having a heated exchange of words over Twitter. Cormier had the last word claiming he was on steroids during their rematch.

Jones has yet to respond since Cormier’s last tweet but it is likely that this rivalry isn’t set to end anytime soon with both men keen to fight each other again.

Both men have just one loss to their name, Jones via disqualification and Cormier with a decision loss to Jones.

It is unlikely that we’ll see the fight again anytime soon due to Jones still being suspended by the UFC but there is no doubt that a trilogy fight would be wanted by all parties and be a big money fight with Cormier currently being a two- division champion.
